We've all heard it, the timeless advice from the mouth of Hippocrates "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine thy food.” We’re just here to remind you + expand creatively around that, stating that our health doesn’t have to be so complex, so linear that it gets to be confusing. It starts with deciding to prioritize + invest in yourself. At the root of it, health is a choice to direct the quality of our own lives by considering, just like in anything else, that you get out what you put in. So let's add in the good stuff, let's LIVE IT, not diet! That which affects the stomach will directly affect the brain
Largely the gut has been overlooked but there has been a shift of awareness happening through the mind, body & in scientific circles around the world. There is a field of medicine called "Neurogastroenterology" where the new name for the abdomen has become "the second brain". Consider that though the brain may be located in the cranium the "mind" is actually located throughout the entire body. There is a natural cocktail of chemicals located in the gut that balance our emotions, our energy and our pain levels, which influences all areas of our lives (even our sleep). The head and the belly are constantly exchanging these electric chemical messages.
